The vision of the MVAMC is that of a hospital that provides veterans world-class benefits and services adhering to the highest standards, (Department of Veterans Affairs, 2010). Therefore, to provide and maintain excellence in care, it is necessary to improve constantly. Health laws require documentation of nursing interventions performed and evaluation of the care given to ensure and improve nursing care quality (Muller-Staub, 2009). Not only individual barriers to change must be handled but the organizational dynamics as well. Prior to applying the change, top management team should state specific goals to achieve. The top management team should also provide a succinct statement of vision and rationale for the projected change implementation as well as a plan of action (Rampur, 2010). The perceived impact and acceptance of computerized documentation on nursing care varied depending on the individual nurseââ¬â¢s characteristics, group support, demographics, and ability to manage identified barriers (Whittaker, Aufdenkamp, amp; Tinley, 2009). To prepare nurses and pertinent members, it is essential to inform and educate in the process to minimize resistance and encourage the affected members to accept and embrace the change.
